Rigmor Andersen (11 December 1903, Aarhus - 10 March 1995, Søllerød) was born in Aarhus, Denmark in December 1903. After finishing school she did a one-year drawing course and then studied in the Furniture School of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Kaare Klint, the founder, was her teacher and his methods and functional designs made an impression on Andersen. She then worked with designer Poul Henningsen towards the end of her studies, contributing to his renowned PH lamp designs.

Andersen is remembered for continuing the traditions of Kaare Klint through her teaching at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. She taught from 1944 to 1973, all the while emulating Klint’s traditions and approach.
