Weaving this collection of Panneaus, Simone Prouvé's choice of material was stainless steel (inox). Prouvé used fibres that are long-living, rot-proof and durable. Her use of stainless steel is meant to contradict the cold, industrial association with the material. She used thin, delicate lines to tame and weave the metal wires in a poetic and flowing style.
The earthy tones balance out the cool shine of the steel, giving the silver a warm undertone. Simone was a big fan of playing with shapes, often playing with abstract lines and circles for us to imagine freely: what can we see? The neutral tones of this piece make it truly versatile as it doesn't claim too much attention and yet offers a subtle beauty.
From what we know, this is the only piece using a combination of browns with stainless steel.
