Atsushi Teraike is a contemporary Japanese artist whose sculptural works often fuse traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern themes. His installations and sculptures, like the multi-panel piece "Ukiyo-e" (2022-23), incorporate classical Japanese elements such as tatami mats and paper lanterns, while referencing personal symbols of loss. Teraike's use of gold leaf and natural motifs is reminiscent of the Kyoto Rinpa school, blending cultural history with personal narratives through stylized forms
