Gauthier Jean Robert
Biography
Between the 1920s and 1940s Jean Gauthier made a stamp on the French Art Deco movement with his signature pressed glass.
Having previously worked with cameo glass, a very time-consuming and laborious method, Gauthier began his career in a small workshop around Montmartre, Paris. Later opening factories in Enzanville, Gauthier focused his work on pressed glass, creating high-quality glassware, particularly lighting fixtures, that exemplified the elegance and modernity of the era.
