Width of top ledge: 173cm

Such is the quality and execution of the design and finish, it seems likely that the cabinet is from the hands of a maker such as 'Crace & Son.' From the 1840's onwards the family firm's workshops predominantly made oak furniture in the Gothic style, to the designs of Pugin. Details such as the carved linen folds and finely tooled metalwork show all the hallmarks of Crace's exceptional craftsmanship. Such furniture would have supplemented the proliferation of large Gothic style Stately homes of the High Victorian period
