Woven with yarn that is handled and dyed with the utmost care to preserve the natural strength of the silk and enhance the brilliance of this aged gold colour, our Silk Velvets are incredibly dense; requiring 15,000 metres of yarn to produce a single metre. Gentle brushing and beating of the finished cloth produces a final supple handle that lends itself beautifully to both drapery and light upholstery. Crushing and creasing of the pile can be expected with use as part of the intrinsic character of the velvet. This fabric is shipped in a suspended box.
