Compressed cardboard ribbed dish seat on a bent iron frame
Always trying to use discarded materials, a dominant theme of his work, Totora has pulped then moulded cardboard and left it to dry in the Brazilian sunshine before applying to it to the 'found' metal frame. By doing this he also cleverly reverses the process of making cardboard so that it takes on a form and structure much more similar to the material it originally came from. Stamped
